Outspoken : An Artists Wish

An artists wishes to be known for his work not his personal life.-All my life I have worked to be able to earn my living, but I thought that one could do good painting without attracting attention to one’s private life. Certainly, an artist wishes to raise himself intellectually as much as possible, but the man must remain obscure. The pleasure must be found in the work. – Paul Cezanne

There is a connection between this post and the previous one (about Amy Winehouse), right? They’re both about managing to keep a private, less exhibited side of one’s own while standing in the center of attention. Must be a permanent struggle, I’m afraid… which hasn’t changed in a hundred of years of evolution 😉

    • Yes there is a connection, but what I was hoping to highlight was that we each have a different idea of what should be expected from ourselves and of others and should therefore leave go of all judgement. 🙂
